Abstract:  The principal goal of the proposed project is to provide statistical streamflow information for gaged and ungaged sites via web-based tools to those tasked with the management, protection, and development of water resources in Utah. Specific project tasks include:

Regionalization: Delineate statistically significant geohydrologic regions.
Station streamflow statistics computation: Compute flow statistics for USGS streamflow gaging stations in Utah and in drainages shared by adjoining states.
Ungaged streamflow statistic estimation: Develop regional regression equations for estimating a range of flow statistics for sites on ungaged streams in Utah.
Web-based user interface: Prepare Utah geographic data for implementation into USGS national StreamStats web based application. Populate StreamStats database with desired Utah GIS data layers. Incorporate Utah streamflow gaging station statistics (task 2) and developed regional regression equations (task 3) into the national StreamStats web based application.
